Ernesto Cisneros was born and raised in Santa Ana, California, where he still teaches. His first novel, Efrén Divided, won the Pura Belpré Award. His second novel, Falling Short, has received starred reviews from Kirkus Reviews, School Library Journal, and Publishers Weekly. He has written more than two dozen award-winning titles, most notably They Call Me Güero and My Two Border Towns. Additionally, David has worked on several TV/film projects, including Victor and Valentino and Monsters and Mysteries in America.
