About the Author

William Steig’s drawings have appeared regularly in The New Yorker since 1930. He has written over twenty-five books for children, including Made for Each Other, Toby What Are You?, and Doctor DeSoto Goes to Africa. He is a recipient of both the Caldecott and Newbery Honors. Mr. Steig resides in Boston, MA, with his wife, author Jeanne Steig.
