Ready-to-Read includes a note to parents explaining what their child can expect, a guide at the beginning for readers to become familiar with the words they will encounter in the story, and reading comprehension questions at the end. Each Ready-to-Go! story contains around 100 words and features sight words, rhyming words, and repetition to help children reinforce their new reading skills. In this book, readers will learn thirty-five sight words, and fourteen words from seven word families. So come on and get reading!

About the Author

Stephanie Calmenson is the acclaimed author of many popular books for young readers including Dinner at the Panda Palace; May I Pet Your Dog?; and the Ready, Set, Dogs! and Allie and Amy series written with Magic School Bus author Joanna Cole. A former early childhood teacher and children’s book editor, Stephanie feels fortunate to be able to teach, entertain, and encourage kids through her books. Baptiste Amsallem was born in Paris, France. As a child, he was inspired to draw by Calvin and Hobbes, Uncle Scrooge, and Dragon Ball. Baptiste graduated from art school in 2009, and his first children’s book was published in 2011; ten years and thirty books later, he still loves being an illustrator. He particularly likes to draw children and animals with human characteristics. Dip pen in India ink and watercolor are his go-to tools. Baptiste makes his characters alive on paper, funny and moving at the same time, and likes to convey an idea, an emotion, or a whole story with a single image. He is an associate member of Illustration Québec and La Charte des Auteurs et Illustrateurs de Jeunesse. He lives in Montreal with his wife and their Samoyed.
